We’re Engaged!!
Okay, I’ve been settling into engaged life, and I realized that I never shared our engagement story with you! It’s been two weeks now, and I’m already knee deep in wedding planning. I promise to keep you in the know there, moving forward.
I’ll be real— this is probably the GREATEST proposal of the generation.. I know it absolutely is the best engagement I’ll experience in my lifetime.
Here we go:
so my parents, siblings, and I took a beach trip—family only until Fourth of July weekend, when the family boyfriends would arrive. We piled in the car and went to Seaside for a week, I had my Fiesta colored nails— don’t worry there are photos.
Thursday night, my family and I went to dinner, before the boyfriends were coming the next day. We went into a boutique, where my mom tried to convince me to change into white lace dress (which should have been a dead giveaway, but hindsight is 20/20).
Dinner was great!
When we got home, I walked into the beach house, and I thought the back porch was aflame. I make my way outside to a hundred tea light candles on the back porch and a projector screen, with a laptop that says “PRESS THE SPACEBAR”

After the video, Shawn was behind me. I cried. He told me something like, “I think you know I love you a lot, so I want to do like Beyonce says and put a ring on it. I want to be contractually obligated to you. Will you marry me?” I’m not too sure. I think we both blacked out from the adrenaline.
Whoop! I said yes, and now we’re getting married. It’s been two weeks, and I have plunged into wedding planning. It’s a lot of fun! I’ll keep you posted and keep an ear raised for any hints or tips I can get my hands on!
