5 Beauty Routine Must-Haves

Hi Friends!

I feel like this post is a long time coming. I've finally compiled a list of my top five beauty hacks. These are things that I've worked into my daily routine, and I'm so excited to share these (and links) with you.

1.Jade Roller

I live by a Jade Roller in the morning. I stumble into the bathroom, put some rose hip seed oil on my face, grab my jade roller out of the freezer, pop a K-cup in the Keurig, and go Jade-roll my face for a few minutes. It's a great way to stimulate lymphatic drainage, getting rid of that morning puffiness. I got mine here, and The Skinny Confidential is the one who totally turned me on to it-- her post about it is here

2. Serums and Oils

Okay, buckle up. Recently, I've decided that I needed a full time skin routine. (I don't know about you guys, but I'm REALLY trying not to age). This is what I have so far:

a. A Vitamin C Serum in the morning

b. rose hip seed oil and the jade roller

c. as little makeup as I can get away with

d. antioxidant serum at night

e. moisturizer or another dose of rose hip seed oil.

I sometimes opt for the moisturizer instead because my skin will get tired of the oil every once in a while. I also use Farsali Rose Gold Facial Oil under my makeup (after I've exfoliated) or in lieu of face makeup when I'm just lounging around the house- we'll talk about that soon.

3. EXFOLIATE.

This one is important. I hate having dead skin, especially on my face (remember what I said about the aging thing). I have a Clarisonic exfoliator, and I LOVE a good apricot scrub. It's great for you, but my mom always used that when I was a kid, so I just pair that facial routine with being a woman-- funny how those things go, right? However, she's aged well, so something's working!

4. Water is Vital.

It's an age-old story, and something every beauty guru will tell you: DRINK WATER. I go through phases where I don't drink as much as I should, and I can tell a difference in my skin-- it's less hydrated and duller. I keep a check list of how much water I'm aiming to drink each day, and it's a small accomplishment that I complete each day that I do. I try to drink 130 ounces a day, which is a ton of water. I truthfully don't always reach that goal, but I certainly get close. I keep the Smart Water bottles and fill them up with filtered water.

5. Rest Days

I am always wearing as little makeup as I can get away with. Rest days are so important. Giving your skin time to breathe is a great way to take care of it. No matter how "nourishing" any brand of makeup claims to be, nothing is as vitalizing as slapping some moisturizer on and chugging the water all day in your PJs. Trust me. Even if I can't lounge around all day, I will wear a tinted moisturizer and some eyebrows and mascara and start my day, more often than not. The fresh faced look is in style anyway, if you ask me. WASH YOUR FACE AND TAKE A BREAK :)
