A Holiday PSA

For most, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. It’s a time to be with loved ones and laugh and eat.. and eat some more. ’Tis the season for playing Christmas music on repeat, binge watching Christmas movies, and scouring the internet and stores for that PERFECT gift for your loved one. Emotions can run high in the midst of this time of the year, so I would like to make a little Public Service Announcement: be kind this holiday season.

While you’re scrambling through the stores to snag a last minute gift or while you’re skipping down Disney’s Main Street USA with your family, remember to be kind to those that help you. Remember to be aware of other shoppers and guests, no matter where you are or what you’re doing. Share niceties and be polite to those who may not get to go home to their families during this season. Be courteous on the road, and let’s all remember that the world doesn’t revolve around us, especially around this time of the year. Let’s all remember to be kind to everyone we encounter; the holidays aren’t so sweet for everyone. Even in the middle of stressful times that are sure to be about, let’s remember to treat our fellow humans with proper holiday spirit. Take an extra breath and an extra second to say “please” and “thank you” and share a smile!

The employees and Disney cast members that we deal with daily are around to make our lives easier. They don’t create prices or lines— they’re around to alleviate as much stress as they can for us; wouldn’t it be sweet to do the same for them this time? Maybe say a quick “Thank you for your time!” Or wouldn't it be great to wish a stranger in line ahead of you a merry Christmas?

I know we all have Christmas cookies to bake and Hallmark movies to binge on, so I won’t make this a long post. I’ll just leave you with this little nugget of truth: Everyone is going through something, especially this time of the year. Let’s work together to be kind. The world will never have too much kindness.
